The central (not window unit) air conditioning was adequate and easy to operate. I reuse the same towel, especially if I am only there for a few days. They had 3 towels in there, which was fine, I am not towel snob that I need a new one every day. They have a full sliding shower door, not that useless 1/2 glass wall that you see in some hotels. I am not sure if there is a tub option available at all, I didn't ask. The refrigerator was large enough to hold takeout plates and large bottles of water and a bottle of wine on the door. There was a comfortable seating area by the window, a desk, closet, refrigerator, safe and a coffee maker. There were 2 queen beds in the room, they were comfortable and warm. The room was clean and comfortable, pretty spacious for 2 people. I am not sure if there was daily cleaning of a room that was occupied, I didn't ask. I did see hotel personnel pushing the cleaning cart each morning in the hallway, but I left the do not disturb sign on our door every day since I did not need cleaning of the room for such a short stay. I'm figuring since the room was cleaned and sanitized after the last guest checked out, no sanitizer or wipes were necessary in the room. They have the usual measures for cv19, hand sanitizer station available in the lobby, the plastic barriers at the check in desk and signs reminding people to wear a mask. The decor and fixtures in the common areas as well as the rooms appear to be modern and updated and pretty nice. The hotel looked like it was renovated sometime in the past few years. So we went out and got take out food from some nearby restaurants and one night we did Uber eats. There was no room service and the restaurants and gift shop in the lobby were not in operation. My niece drove in from AZ and she we was able to park her truck every day without any problems. No valet parking due to the restrictions, all self parking. The hotel grounds were neat and clean and the parking lot was about half full. If you have ever been in LAX pre-pandemic, you WILL notice the difference. The hotel was a very short ride from the airport, especially since the traffic was light in the airport and on the roads. I'm sure because they have a lot of availability in the hotel an hour or so early wouldn't make a difference. I arrived about an hour before check in time, but they let me check in any way and did not even mention it to me. The hotel has a free airport shuttle, though I did not use it I did see other guests arrive and leave in it. I also wanted to make sure that because of the lock down in California that I wouldn't be turned away when I showed up, they mentioned that they were considered "essential" so the reservation would be honored. They mentioned that the lounge was closed and that they did not have any suites with two beds in it, so I changed it to a standard room with two beds at a lower room rate. I found out because I called them to change my reservation to three nights and to a room with two beds because a family member was going to meet me in Los Angeles for a visit. ![]() That is the only negative issue I had with this. The original reservation was for a suite with lounge access, the website did not mention that the lounge was closed due to the lock down. So I extended my reservation to 3 nights. My plan was to take the test in Los Angeles, fly home and quarantine for a few days until the test results came in, but it was changed so that I had to have the negative test results in hand before I even got on the plane in LAX, and at the time there were no rapid test labs in Los Angeles that was a testing partner in Hawaii. About 1 month before my reserved stay, the Governor of Hawaii changed the criteria for the cv19 test requirements. I had only planned to stay one night at this hotel. I was transiting through California en route to Honolulu from Dubai.
